CTXMatrix Lite 1.4 is coming along quickly, and one complaint keeps popping up: it's hard to see and tweak the plugin when you're sitting in your proper listening position, 2–3 meters away from the monitor.
CTXMatrix is built for real loudspeaker setups in a proper listening room. The most accurate calibration happens when you're actually in the sweet spot — not leaning over a desk. I do it myself with a wireless mouse and keyboard while the monitor stays right in front of me. Once it's dialed in, most of the work is done... though we all know the urge to keep fine-tuning never really goes away.
Here are the main options people are using:
For Windows users (and it works with iPad too):
- Spacedesk – Free and pretty popular. Turns your iPad (or Android tablet) into a wireless second monitor over Wi-Fi.
- You can extend the desktop and just drag the CTXMatrix window onto the iPad.
- Setup is straightforward: install the server on your PC, get the viewer app on the tablet, connect on the same network.
Low-latency / more polished option:
- Dual Display – This one is often recommended when you want minimal lag. It feels more responsive, which matters when you're listening for tiny changes in the soundstage.
For Linux users:
Linux options are a bit more scattered right now.
(Note: Mac version is still in the works — I haven't received the hardware for proper testing and release yet, so Sidecar isn't relevant for now.)
Drop your experiences in the comments. Especially if you're on Linux or have found a good wireless solution that works well with CTXMatrix. I am just giving suggestion. And my method is long cable and wireless keyboard. If possible use this method.
Thanks as always for the testing and reports.
